Privacy, short and plain.
We collect as little as we can, we don't use cookies or ad pixels, and we never sell or rent your information. Here's exactly what happens.
What we store
- What you type into our forms, and only when you press send: your email; for an order, your name, the place (address, county, parcel numbers, acres), a title, gift details and any note; for a business inquiry, your name, email, the place, a link and your message.
- Which link brought you here: campaign tags in the link (like "from an Instagram ad") and the site you came from. They're saved with your form so we know which ads and posts work.
- Anonymous step counts: when someone opens the preview, starts a search, leaves an email or presses an order button, we log the step name, the page and the campaign tags. No IP address, no name, no email, no device ID. These are deleted after 120 days.
What we don't do
- No cookies from us, and no Meta, Google or TikTok tracking pixels.
- No owner names: we never pull owner or mailing fields from parcel records.
- We don't keep your preview searches unless you ask us to email the preview or place an order.
- We don't sell, rent or share your details for anyone else's marketing.
Visitor counts
We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare describes as privacy-first and cookieless: it doesn't fingerprint you or follow you across sites. The campaign tag from your link is kept in your browser's session storage for that tab only, and it's gone when you close the tab.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores form entries.
- Google Workspace runs our email inbox.
- Stripe, PayPal or Etsy process payments under their own privacy policies. We get your name, email and the amount, never your full card number.
- On the free preview, your browser sends the address you type to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim search to find it, loads terrain and imagery tiles from AWS and USGS, and, in some states, asks the state's public parcel service for the parcel ID and acreage at that spot.
How we use your email
Only for what you asked for: your preview, your order and its delivery, a note the day orders open, a reply to your inquiry, and, only if you tick the box, two reminders before the Christmas order deadline (Nov 27 and Dec 10). No newsletters unless you ask.
Opting out
Every reminder email has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also use the unsubscribe page, reply "unsubscribe", or email [email protected]. Emails about a map you bought still come, since they're about your order.
How long we keep it
Step counts: 120 days. Sign-ups for the preview or reminders: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Orders and payments: as long as tax and bookkeeping rules require.
Your choices
Ask us what we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and we'll do it within 30 days (order records we must keep for taxes are the only exception). Email [email protected].
Children
Our site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
